God’s church is not a building, but a group of people. And like we talked about on Sunday, the church doesn’t have a mission, God’s mission has a church. We believe that God has placed this building in front of us, the church, to utilize in helping us in the mission. Our mission is to use the keys to the Kingdom to kick down the gates of hell, set the captives free, and lead them to faith in the saving grace of Jesus. Matthew 16:15-19 says this:
He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” Simon Peter replied, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” And Jesus answered him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah! For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father who is in heaven. And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.”
Will you join us in praying that our confession would be right; that we, as a church, would believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God, with all our hearts, minds, and souls? Because only in that faith will we be able to use The Warehouse to kick through the gates of hell in our city.
