Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins. Show hospitality to one another without grumbling. As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace…
1 Peter 4:8-10
Verse 10 says each of us should use whatever gift we have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. Being a faithful steward of everything God has given us is a privilege, because it is ONLY through His grace. Whether through giving financially, praying fervently, disciple making, reaching out to our neighbors, etc. We must transform our thinking and realize being able to do these things is a gift in itself and not a “to do”. The idea of being able to please the Lord (Ephesians 5:10) is amazing, because we are so unworthy and we are only able to please Him through the grace He has given us. Paul says in 1 Corinthians 15:10, “But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me was not in vain. On the contrary, I worked harder than any of them, though it was not I, but the grace of God that is with me.” Another translation says that His grace toward me was not without effect. May that be our prayer as well.
Will you pray for the Warehouse, that the Church would be faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms and His grace would not be without effect in our lives. And, to come to realize that we are only able to purchase and use the Warehouse by His grace.
